Abstract

The aim of this article is to provide an approach to the study of representation of religious forms in the Aeneid with reference to Augustan policy of civic unity through religious organization. We consider that two of the main characteristics of this policy are intentionally reflected in the Aeneid: a) the ritual importance to establish civic order; b) the justification of religious policy of absorption, hybridization, and supremacy over other peoples
